Biography
Simona Maggio was born in Naples, Italy, in 1984. She received the M.S. (summa cum laude) in Electrical Engineering from University of Bologna, Italy, in 2007. Since then she is part of the Multiresolution Analysis and Simulation group at Department of Electronics, Computer Science and Systems (DEIS) of the University of Bologna, as PhD student. In 2009 she was visiting scientist in the Biomedical Imaging Group at EPFL in Lausanne (Switzerland). Her studies are focused on ultrasound signals and concern tissue characterization, biomedical image segmentation and classification, feature selection and extraction problems, data mining for diagnostic purposes and inverse problems for imaging applications.
