Biography

Nicola Testoni was born in 1980 in Bologna, Italy. He received his B.Sc and M.Sc degree in electronic engineering from the "Alma Mater Studiorum" - University of Bologna, Italy, in 2002 and 2004, respectively. In 2005, he joined the Advanced Research Center on Electronic Systems (ARCES), University of Bologna as a Ph.D. student. During 2006 he visited for six months the Audiovisual Communications Laboratory (LCAV) of the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne where he also collaborated with the UFR Biomédicale of the Université Paris Descartes. In 2008 he achieved the Ph.D. degree within the European Doctorate on Information Technology (EDITH) Program at the University of Bologna. From May 2008 to May 2009 he visited the Lehrstuhl für Medizintechnik of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum as a visiting researcher.
